How does Acupuncture work?

  • By stimulating your own natural healing
    response
  • By encouraging the flow of energy within
    you, using fine needles
  • By bringing balance to the body, leading
to an increased sense of well being and
    positivity

Acupuncture is based on long held Chinese beliefs, that have their basis on a profound knowledge of the human body that has come from listening, observing and understanding natural laws.

We all have energy that flows through us, enabling us to move around and go about our daily lives.

When balanced, this energy also allows us to laugh, cry, love, be inspired, have direction and generally cope with the stresses and strains’ of our lives.

When this energy is not balanced within us, we find different aspects of our lives become difficult; work or family life can make us stressed and unhappy. We may find we are not sleeping as well, are more irritable, and may start to suffer with more illnesses.

These are just some of the ways that our bodies tell us that all is not well.

Acupuncture encourages the flow of energy within you, using fine needles to stimulate your bodies own healing response. This results in an increased sense of well being and positivity, and an improvement in the physical and emotional symptoms that you have been experiencing.

As an acupuncturist, I am trained to recognise the signs of distress that your body is showing, and then make the necessary adjustments to enable your recovery and to help you to feel and function at your best.
